Here's a sample
of my cd disc and package designs. These were mostly regional bands from
my days in college at University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville. Rock on. |

Punkinhead was a funk band in the late 80's and early 90's in Fayetteville. This was their first record, titled New South Soul from 1992. The cd cover is actually a 9 panel, foldout poster. Hand illustrated and color-separated with rubylith and halftone chartpack film in 4 spot colors. The cd is a hand illustrated 2-color design. Both the poster and cd feature subliminal imagery both subtle and obvious. Click here to see the full layout, and here to see the disc design. | |||

The
Tares were an alt rock/country band from Fayetteville, which
reached some prominence (SXSW) before going down in a huge blaze of glory
and gunfire. Well, actually the members of the band all fell into a wallowing
morass of Maddog20/20, speedmetal and hookers - a dangerous concoction,
by anyone's standards. Nonetheless, I was damn proud to work with them
on their 1998 release, the
brother ep. This record kicks ass and i still listen to it often.

Oreo Blue has been around the Fayetteville music scene for over a decade, and still regularly pack roadhouses from Memphis to Kansas City. I've worked on several cd projects for the band, and recently completed this dvd/cd combo package, The Oreo Blue Experience. This record and concert dvd feature the guitar mastery of Gary Hutchison in a tribute to the music of Jimi Hendrix. Both the sound and video production on this project are top notch. Click on either cover for enlarged layouts. |
